Most Common Types of Visa Extensions

30-Day Tourist Extension

Any kind of tourist visa gives the right for getting Visa Extension (including Visa Exemption and Visa on Arrival) for up to 30 days (but no longer than the original visa).

Fee 1,900 THB

60-Day Family Extension

if married to Thai, having Thai kids, having Thai parents, being former Thai national, etc. you will be able to get a 60-Day Visa Extension without further requirements.

Please note, that recently the admission of this extension has been changed in such a way that some Immigration Offices do not grant this visa extension at all, while other offices only grant this extension to holders of a Non-0 family visa, while others grant this extension as before to anyone having family in Thailand.

Only 1 visa extension based on visit to family will be posible per original visa (or visa exemption or visa on arrival).

Fee 1,900 THB

1-Year Non-Immigrant Extension

Non-B, Non-ED, Non-O, Non-OA and more are all possible to extend for up to 1 year at a time - if the (extensive) requirements are met.

You will find detailed information under the Visa Extension Search tab on the requirements for qualifying for visa extensions under specific visas.

Fee 1,900 THB

Re-Entry Permit

Please note that any visa extension is a zero entry permit, i.e. you are getting it inside Thailand and are not allowed to leave and re-enter into Thailand on the extension unless you apply for re-entry permit before leaving Thailand.

You are getting a re-entry permit at the Immigration. At the airports the counter is located after Security but before Passport Counter.

Single Re-entry permit is available for 1,000 THB and multiple re-retry permit for 3,800 THB.

90-Day Reporting

Staying in Thailand as foreigner for more than 90 days in one row will (with a few visa exceptions) require you to do 90-Day Address Reporting.
